The purpose of this committee is to identify issues, needs, and solutions that directly impact pre-service music teachers in Texas. While our primary stakeholders are pre-service music teachers, either in a traditional or alternative preparation program, other important individuals are teacher educators, supervising and cooperating teachers, mentor teachers, and even beginning teachers. Each of us can directly impact the trajectory and retention of pre-service teachers once they are fully in the profession.
So what issue or need should we focus on as a committee, based on your experiences as a pre-service or new teacher, or working as a mentor? What solutions have you considered but have not shared? This committee wants to know what you have to say so feel free to share with us.
